Severus Alexander was the youngest emperor (12 years old!) of his time. He lived and ruled in the shadow of his powerful mother and three wives, mostly dedicated to religion and theology. He preserved an open mind for his time, and was tolerant to both christians and jews. He had no children, and in the end, Alexander’s body was buried together with the body of his mother Julia Manaea in a mausoleum in Rome. Their remains rest now together forever in the Palazzo dei Conservatori, designed by Michelangelo in the XVI century. .
